Teal Sleeveless Coat

Teal Sleeveless Coat

Hey guys!! I absolutely LOVE the sleeveless coat trend. What I DON’T like is that all the ones in the stores are neutral color. I have had the hardest time finding one that was vibrant. So I made myself a teal sleeveless coat.

teal sleeveless coatI love this color wool. That is the number one benefit to custom clothing. You can pick and choose the colors that you want. I only saw black, khaki and grey in these sleeveless coats. I wanted a COLOR.

It makes my coat pop even more. When I tell you I am in LOVE with this color teal? I really am. I love wearing bright colors in the fall/winter. teal sleeveless coatI received so many compliments when I wore this and I felt like a million bucks! This MIGHT be my favorite piece so far this fall.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Butterick 6244

Pattern Description:  Semi-fitted, unlined coat (wrong side shows) has front extending into collar, flat-fell seams, narrow hem, and shaped front hemline longer than back.

Pattern Sizing: 8-16

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? They are VERY easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This coat pattern is very similar to the sleeveless coats that I’ve seen in department stores.

Fabric Used: 100% Wool

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I plan on making this again with sleeves. I LOVE this coat.

Conclusion: This is such a great pattern. Every time I went to pick this up from the store it was always sold out. I ended up ordering the pattern online during one of the sales.

I love this! The color is great on you, and the lines flow so beautifully. The white really makes thevblue pop. I saw another bright sleeveless coat on blogger and stylist Erica Bunker’s instagram, she took a smart shortcut and redisigned a red winter coat and took off the sleeves and bound them to make a nice finish. Two smart, stylish ladies!
